David Coston: Partner, Creative Strategy
David founded Fountainhead Advertising in Atlanta in 1993. He was Chief Creative Director on a variety of clients including Hard Rock Café’s international creative account, Great American Cookie Company, Bass Ale, Coke/Burger King, Wal-Mart Vision Center - the number three optical provider in the country, Avado Brands restaurant company – comprised of brands like Applebee’s, Don Pablo’s and Hop’s.
He introduced a brand development program within the agency, where he worked on numerous Turner brands including TBS - Dinner & a Movie, TNT, Cartoon Network, and CNN. He consulted on brand personality development for MCI/WorldCom, Avado Brands, Atlanta Bread Company, and many companies in B to B, financial, technology, and healthcare categories. In 2002 he sold his firm to one of the top fifteen independent agencies in the nation, staying on as Chief Creative Officer of the Atlanta office, managing all aspects of the business.
After launching Brandikon, David consulted as lead creative on brand re-positioning of Heineken USA and Amstel Light, and he joined innovation engagements with Crowne Plaza Hotels and consulted on the global launch of the enterprise software firm, Infor. He has created engagements with Amstel Light, Infor, RFMD, The Richmond Federal Reserve, BCD Travel, The World Wildlife Fund, and Georgia Pacific, among others. He has been involved in numerous brand development and naming engagements.
David taught Advanced Writing and Concepting at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, and has won national and international creative awards. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, four sons, and daughter.
